The project caters to children and young adults coming from a poor living condition with developmental and intellectual disabilities through providing them with appropriate primary education using specialized teaching approaches.
The volunteer will be assigned in a class of 5-10 children and young adults guided by his/her supervisor. The volunteer is expected to report from Mondays to Fridays during class hours to give and assist his/her supervisor in the following activities:
(1) Cognitive Class
(2) Self-Help and Life Skills Class
(3) Music, Arts and Play Therapy
(4) P.E./ Socialization (every Friday)
The volunteer is also expected to assist in the following programs:
(1) Self and Social Enhancement
(2) Training of parents and family members
(3) Spiritual Enhancement
The volunteer(s) is/are encourage to spend more time outside of class hours, socializing with the pupils/kids, organizing and planning activities such as parent’s training, community outreach programs and outings.
