We are a unique animal shelter, that mainly houses senior animals and animals with health or mental programs. Our residents are approx. 100 cats (largest group), some dogs and animal farms such as pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs. We take care of animals that have little or no chance to be sheltered in other places. Animal welfare is our main focus. The animals don’t live in cages, but move around freely around the domain. There are some cosy rooms for them inside too.

Our organisation is mainly volunteer-based. The volunteers have very different profiles: people looking for re-orientation, temporary unemployed people, seniors, animal loving working people that want to engage during their free time… People with disabilities, whether it be physical or mental, are involved too.

As a volunteer you can engage in various tasks, depending on your interests, talents and competences. Animal care is the main focus. Tasks can be:

  • daily care of animals: feeding, giving medication, visits to the veterinarian
  • daily care of the animal residences or fields
  • administration
  • reception
  • website and social media
  • PR
  • assistance at food collection
  • organisation of events
  • small handyman chores
  • making pictures and videos
  • creative activities to the advantage of the animals

There is a lot of work at the shelter form early in the morning till late in the evening (7 am – 10 pm). Your work schedule is flexible and depend on the availability of the other volunteers. You will also work in the evenings or during weekends.
